Samsung Electronics partnered with The Dodo -- the no.1 animal brand on digital -- to make everyday moments epic with the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+’s Super Slow-mo camera. The goal of our Dodo x Samsung Galaxy S9 campaign was to show how documenting everyday adventures with our pets can be epic in super slow-motion — with the help of surf champ pups, backpacking kitties, and Instagram doggie stars.
With 55MM views to date and 10MM minutes viewed on Facebook, we created one Launch video, three “How-to” videos highlighting why every pet-obsessed owner needs the S9, 13 short-form hero assets capturing every-day moments with our favorite pets, and three custom Instagram stories that lived across Facebook and Instagram. Receiving 99% positive sentiment, The Dodo showed off the S9’s incredible abilities to loop, swing, and reverse as though the pets themselves were teaching our audience how to use the new phone's features.
We even used celebratory occasions our users love (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Earth Day, First Day of Summer, and National Doughnut Day) to create these shareable pet moments. From doggy yoga, to slow-mo food catches, to swimming shots, our campaign generated four million social engagements to date.
But we didn't stop there. The Dodo and Samsung teamed up to create The Dodo's first-ever experiential event, "Best Dog Day Ever." We brought dogs and dog lovers together at NYC's Brookfield Place for a day of fun for everyone. We created activations that we knew would be fun and incredible to capture with the Samsung S9 Slow-Mo feature like pups eating Shake Shack Pooch-ini ice cream, a pet spa and glamour shots, a doggy pool area, doggy ball pit and a relax and refresh lounge. Over 1400 guests and their pups attended Best Dog Day Ever where we put the Galaxy S9 in guests' hands to experience Slow-Mo for themselves.
Our 360-degree campaign successfully showed consumers just how fun it is to capture content with the new Galaxy S9.
